Iran protesters pouring into streets in Tehran and 5 other cities

Clash with police are reported as the crowd is constantly being swelled by peaceful people arriving on foot and by bus

Free Iran - Iranian security forces have clashed with opposition protesters in the capital Tehran on the 30th anniversary of the storming of the US embassy.

Witnesses said security forces used batons to try to disperse demonstrators holding anti-government marches in a central square in the capital. The opposition protests were called to coincide with state-sanctioned rallies.

The crowd is constantly being swelled by people arriving on foot and by bus, witnesses said.

Less than a mile away at Haft-e-Tir square, riot police armed with batons and firing tear gas moved in as several thousands opposition supporters attempted to stage an anti-government protest.

Witnesses said the protesters, who were chanting "Death to the dictator", refused to disperse and several were beaten, clashes escalating and continue.

More news will be posted as photos and videos arrive...
